WCC Blog Hop - Season's Greetings Pines

Woohoo! It's time for our monthly blog hop, this time featuring products from the new August - December 2020 Mini Catalogue!

This card uses the awesome In The Pines Bundle which includes the In The Pines Stamp Set and the Pine Woods Dies. I used the Watercolour Smoosh technique to make the background for this card. That involved colouring on a Clear Block E with Stampin' Write Markers (Pool Party, Pacific Point & Night of Navy), using a Stampin' Spritzer to spray it with water, and smooshing it down on Shimmery White Cardstock. So fun!

The diecuts are cut in Night of Navy and Misty Moonlight cardstock and the Misty Moonlight/Silver Baker's Twine is from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack. The card front was layered on Misty Moonlight and a Night of Navy card base.

The snowflake was diecut using the So Many Snowflakes Dies in the gorgeous Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper. The sentiment is from the In The Pines Stamp Set and was stamped in Versamark, heat embossed in White Stampin' Emboss Powder and fussy cut.

Please enjoy hopping to the other West Coast Creators' blogs to see their beautiful cards!

Autumn Thanks

It's time again for Kylie's monthly contest! Please check out my card and vote for me if you like it!

I wanted to show you some of my favourite new autumn products in the new August - December 2020 Mini Catalogue which goes live on August 4th along with an adorable set from the Annual Catalogue!
Our theme is "Thank You" so I thought that this little raccoon holding a beautiful autumn leaf was perfect!

The large leaf is cut with the Stitched Leaves Dies on pg 49 out of the Brushed Metallic 12x12 Cardstock on pg 45. Did you notice the stitched embossing on the leaf? That is a separate die in the set!

The patterned paper is the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) on pg 45. The small leaves are punched with the Autumn Punch Pack on pg 46, also out of the Brushed Metallic Cardstock.

The raccoon and sentiment came from the Special Someone Stamp Set on pg 93 of the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue along with the Special Day Dies. The balloon string in this set was attached to the leaf and the grass was cut from Mint Macaron cardstock with a die from this set.

The raccoon was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and Gray Granite inks and cut with the coordinating die. I used Crumb Cake and Mint Macaron Blends around the edges to help it blend into the background. The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso to tie in with the striped DSP.

Cardstock used was Cajun Craze, Mint Macaron and Whisper White.

Thank you for visiting my blog! If you live in Canada and you'd like to purchase any of the products used in this card, please go to my online store and use the Host Code above.

Kylie's Winners Hop - Boho Indigo Gold!

Hi Folks! I want to thank all of you who voted for my Blossoms Card and put me in first place in Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights contest! I am sincerely honoured to be among all the talented winners! Be sure to follow the links below to check out their beautiful creations!

I wanted to try out the Gold Cards & Envelopes coming up in the August - December 2020 Mini Catalogue! I thought that the Boho Indigo Product Medley paired nicely with them!

The cards already have that gold trim printed on them and don't you love those solid gold envelopes?

I added a Night of Navy cardstock layer and added strips of the Boho Indigo Designer Series Paper. The set also comes with the stamps and dies to make the vase, sentiment and leaves (cut from gold foil), and it also comes with a ribbon combo which includes this beautiful gold ruched ribbon!

My favourite part was making the vase. I stamped the vase on Very Vanilla cardstock in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder. Then I took some Night of Navy ink and a sponge and the magic happened! It's so cool to see the design pop out of the clear embossing! You just wipe off the excess ink (which is resisted by the embossing) with a paper towel (hence the name emboss-resist technique)!

Enjoy hopping to the other winners' blogs!

WCC Blog Hop - Beautiful World

I'm so happy to be participating in the West Coast Creators Blog Hop for July! This month's theme is the new In Colors - 5 brand new colours that came out in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue!
For my card today, I decided to focus on two of the new colours, Misty Moonlight and Cinnamon Cider!

I was inspired by a swap card I received from Ange McKay and decided to put my own spin on it! I used the fabulous new World of Good Suite of products, including the Beautiful World Stamp Set, World Map Dies, World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper and Brass Foil Sheets.

To give a bit of an "Old World" feel, I tore the edges of the sentiment piece and sponged some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on the edges. The sentiment was stamped on Cinnamon Cider cardstock in Versamark Ink and heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.

Graduation Whale

I am, once again, thrilled to be participating in Kylie Bertucci's blog hop with demonstrators from around the world!

My son's girlfriend, Jordy, recently graduated from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada with a degree in Environmental Studies. We are all so proud of her!

I decided to use the Whale of a Time Suite of products to create this cute little graduating whale!

I punched the whale out of the Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper (DSP) and I added a little cap and diploma. The cap was cut with the help of the Tailored Tag Punch and I added some twine from the Playful Pets Trim Combo pack. The whale was mounted on more of the DSP.
Cardstock used was Pretty Peacock, Bermuda Bay, Basic Black and Whisper White. I also use the Seabed 3D Embossing Folder and the gorgeous Pool Party Sheer Ribbon.
The sentiment was stamped on Whisper White in Pretty Peacock Ink and diecut with the Stitched Shapes Dies.

Blossoms in Bloom

It's time once again to ask you to vote for my card in Kylie Bertucci's Monthly International Highlights!

Today, I'm sharing a card done with the new Blossoms in Bloom Bundle available in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue! I uses the Many Layered Blossoms Dies for this card along with the sentiment from the Blossoms in Bloom Stamp Set.

One thing I love doing is experimenting with sponging different colours of ink onto coloured cardstock to see the different colours I can achieve! Here, I've used a sponge dauber to sponge Magenta Madness ink onto Mango Melody cardstock. It comes out as a beautiful tangerine colour! The cardbase and the top layer of diecut is Basic Black. The diecuts are layered onto Basic Gray cardstock.

The ribbon is the 3/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark Ink and heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.

Forever Fern - Kylie’s Top Ten Winners!

I am honoured to be chosen as #2 in Kylie’s International Highlights! Thank you soooo much to all of you who voted for me!

Those of us in the Top Ten have the honour of participating in Kylie's Top Ten Winners Blog Hop! I've chosen to share with you a tried and true technique that I learned a few years ago. I recently saw a card from a fellow demonstrator, Lisa Althouse, where she used this particular colour combo that I love! The stamp set is Forever Fern from the new Forever Greenery Suite of gorgeous products in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue!

The really fun part of creating this card was using Stampin' Write Markers to scribble all over a Clear Block (size E). The colours I used were Terracotta Tile, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive. I then spritzed the block with water and pressed it onto Shimmer Paper, using a paper towel to mop up any excess water after I lifted the block. So much fun!

I stamped the leaves and sentiment from Forever Fern in Soft Suede ink and layered it onto Soft Suede and a Bumblebee card base. The ribbon is from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack and I finished it off with Gold Glitter Enamel Dots.

Please continue hopping to see the amazing creations by Kylie Bertucci and the other winners!
