Welcome to this month's Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop! This month my global colleagues and I are inspired by the theme "Playing with Sand". The very first thing that came to my mind was a recent trip to Cabo San Lucas with my son, Tom, his wife, Hannah, and our 11-month-old grandson, Harrison. We had so much fun seeing Harrison discover how much fun playing with sand could be!
Thoughts of Cabo then led me to think of our Scenic Coast Suite Collection which has an arch die that always makes me think of the arch in Cabo!
We took a boat tour to the arch and watched the sun set there. it was beautiful!
That finally led me to create this card!
I used the gorgeous Scenic Coast 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, along with the dies and stamps from the Sunset Coast Bundle. I used the arch die-cut as a starting point and cut some additional black cardstock freehand to try to mimic the Cabo arch. It's not a perfect match but close enough!
The sailboat was die cut from Strawberry Slush and then I added some sparkle with the Crisp Cantaloupe Shimmer Brush. The ribbon is a sneak peek of the Black 3/8" Iridescent Ribbon coming in the July Online Exclusives!
The sentiment was stamped in black on a Highland Heather banner cut using the Stylish Shapes Dies.
I used a leftover strip of the DSP on the inside of the card and added the two small sailboat die-cuts in black. I finished the card with the Sunset Sparkle Sequins.
