Horse on Sunset Beach

You know I love sunsets and silhouettes! Here is my latest creation using one of my favourites, High Tide, and a new stamp set called Let It Ride!

Start with a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 5" x 3-3/4". Cut a Stamping Sponge into 8 wedges. Using one wedge, sponge Daffodil Delight ink in a circular motion into the center of the cardstock.

Take another sponge wedge and lightly sponge a little Pumpkin Pie ink around the Daffodil Delight area, working in a circular motion and overlapping the Daffodil Delight.

Using a sponge brayer, roll some Melon Mambo ink on the top half of the piece, keeping it deeper at the top and gradually going lighter as you move down.

Cover half the card (the Melon Mambo side) with a Post-It Note so that the sticky side is in the middle of the card. Using another sponge wedge, sponge Balmy Blue ink over the whole exposed area, ensuring good coverage along the Post-It Note edge.

Using the water stamp from the High Tide stamp set and Balmy Blue ink, stamp the water lines over top of the Balmy Blue area.

Sponge Memento Tuxedo Black ink along the bottom of the card and stamp the tufts of grass from the High Tide Stamp Set, also in black. Remove the Post-It Note and stamp the galloping horse from the Let It Ride stamp set. Lightly sponge a little Melon Mambo in the water around the horse to reflect the sky.

Stamp the For You sentiment from the High Tide stamp set in black and, using a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker, fill in the horse completely to create the silhouette. Mat the finished piece onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock measuring 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" using Snail or Multipurpose Glue. Then adhere to a Balmy Blue card base measuring 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4".

Best Catch Gift Card Holder for Valentine's Day

This is a great masculine card for Valentine's Day or any other occasion if you remove the heart! My husband is an avid fly fisherman and this is perfect for giving him a gift card from his favourite tackle store!

Instructions:

Start with one of Stampin' Up!'s regular note cards & envelope. Cut 1-3/4" off the note card and round the corners using a Detailed Trio Punch (or the Envelope Punch Board).
Take a lighter piece of Wood Textures designer series paper and cut two pieces, 4-7/8" x 3-3/8" and 4-7/8" x 1-5/8". Round the corners on the top half of each piece. On the wider piece, use a Sponge Brayer to roll some Flirty Flamingo ink along the top edge, gradually lightening as you move down. Do the same with the smaller piece using Balmy Blue ink.
On the wider piece with the Flirty Flamingo ink, stamp the fisherman from the Best Catch stamp set at the top left in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink..
Using a Mossy Meadow Stampin' Write marker, colour the edges of the note card. You can also use a Stampin' Blends but this will leak through to the back of your card. Alternatively, you can cut an equivalent sized piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock to use instead of the white note card. Glue down the DSP pieces to the card. Put two strips of Tear & Tape on the sides of the bottom part of the card.to close up the part that will hold your gift card. Leave the top open to hold your gift card.
Stamp the fish onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Colour it in with Stampin Blends in Flirty Flamingo, Balmy Blue and Old Olive. Cut the fish out using Catch of the Day Thinlits and a Big Shot machine, or fussy cut it if you don't want the white edge.
Stamp the sentiment on a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock in Versamark ink. Emboss with White Stampin' Emboss powder and melt with the Heat Tool. Cut the sentiment out using the small Rectangle Stitched Framelit and the Big Shot. Cut a small heart from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits out of Flirty Flamingo cadstock.
Wrap Burlap Ribbon around the lower part of the card and adhere it under where the sentiment will go. Adhere the sentiment, fish and heart, using Stampin' Dimensionals, onto the lower part of the card so that the gift card can be slipped into the slot behind them. If desired, cut a 5-1/4" x 2" piece of Wood Textures DSP and adhere it to the envelope flap using Snail or Multi-purpose Glue. Trim around the flap with Snips. Stamp the fly in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto the flap.
