Coast to Coast Blog Hop - Sketch Challenge

 

Welcome to our monthly hop with demonstrators from across Canada! This month, we were tasked with using this sketch by Julee Tilman as inspiration for our card! I love sketch challenges!

I chose to use the Fun on Wheels Bundle, from the 2023-2024 Annual Catalogue, with a neutral colour palette. The card base is Pebbled Path cardstock. I used a piece of the One Horse Open Sleigh 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (Online Exclusives) for the tree background and that was mounted on a Basic Black mat. I added a vertical strip of 2023-2025 In Color 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper in Pebbled Path, a vertical Basic Black strip embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder, and a horizontal thin black strip.

The bicycle was die cut in Silver Foil and the wheels in Basic Black. I die cut the Basic White label using the Nested Essentials Dies. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and wrapped Pebbled Path Textured Ribbon around the label and adhered on the back with tape. I added the bicycle with Black Mini Stampin' Dimensionals under the wheels.

I adhered the label to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I finished the card with 3 Pebbled Path 2023-2025 In Color Dots.

AWOW Blog Hop - Never Ever Grow Up!

 

I am so excited and honoured to have been invited to join the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop! Each month a group of talented demonstrators from all over the world create projects based on that month's theme. You will be able to hop around below to see all the wonderful inspiration!

This month, the theme is Never Ever Grow Up! We could interpret this theme in any way that's meaningful to us. I loved this scene from the stamp set, Beside Me. It reminds me of my boys when they were little and how sometimes I'd think, Never Ever Grow Up! My husband, Mike, is an avid fisherman. My boys are grown men now and are not really into it anymore but I do have photos of them fishing with their dad when they were little. Their first catch was so exciting!

You may notice that the stamp I used has a little girl on the left side. Since I don't have any daughters, I just stamped and fussy cut out the dad and son only. It was stamped on Basic White in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with Stampin' Blends. The little space in between the dad and son was coloured in with Azure Afternoon Blends and the black marks made with a Black Stampin' Write Marker. You might want to wait until you've done the ocean (see below) so that you can try to copy it in the little space. The card base is Azure Afternoon with a layer of Daffodil Delight on top.

For the background scene, I used a Blending Brush to brush on some Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry inks, leaving some white in the middle and at the bottom. I used a Post-It Note as a mask to make the horizon line at the bottom, and brushed on some Azure Afternoon and Misty Moonlight inks for the ocean. The lines in the ocean are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black using a stamp from the Gone Fishing Stamp Set. I removed the Post-It Note and stamped the birds and fishing rods in black. Note that I just inked up two of the rods on the stamp, not the people.

I adhered the scene to a Basic Black mat and then centered it on the card base. I adhered the people and dock using glue on the bottom under the dock and Stampin' Dimensionals under the upper part of the people.

I stamped the sentiment in Versamark on Basic Black and heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. I die cut with the label die from Cheerful Daisies, cut off the left side and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. I finished the card with 3 Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots.

Coast to Coast Blog Hop - Masterfully Made - No White/Vanilla Challenge

 

Welcome to July's Coast to Coast Blog Hop! This month we were challenged to NOT use any Basic White or Very Vanilla on our cards! I was able to select some gorgeous colours from the Masterfully Made Suite Collection to complete this challenge! My card is a fun fold using Melon Mambo, Pretty Peacock, Lemon Lime Twist and Fresh Freesia cardstock. The patterned paper is from Masterfully Made 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper.

I die cut the leaves and the sentiment label from the Gorgeously Made Dies.

The sentiment is from the Gorgeously Made Stamp Set and is stamped in Fresh Freesia.

Coast to Coast Blog Hop - Annual Catalogue - Earthen Elegance

 

Welcome to June's blog hop! This month's theme is products from the 2023-2024 Annual catalogue! I chose to use one of my favourites - the Earthen Elegance Suite Collection! Be sure to hop around to the blogs of my talented colleagues below!

I love the colour combinations in the Earthen Elegance 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper! Copper Clay and Pretty Peacock is my favourite combo! I also used Crumb Cake for the vase and sentiment, and Early Espresso for the plant die-cuts.

The vase is stamped in Copper Clay and die cut. I used Copper Clay ink and a Blending Brush to add some shading to the sides and bottom of the vase. I love the effect! 

The sentiment label is actually the tall vase turned sideways! I finished off with some Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins (copper).

Coast to Coast Blog Hop - Cheerful Daisies - New In Colors

 

Welcome to our May blog hop! This month, we are highlighting the new 2023 - 2025 In Colors - Copper Clay, Wild Wheat, Boho Blue, Moody Mauve and Pebbled Path - gorgeous earthy tones!

I chose to use the new Fresh as a Daisy Suite Collection on pages 110-111 of the 2023 - 2024 Annual Catalogue. My cardstock colours came from those in the Fresh as a Daisy 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper and include Copper Clay, Wild Wheat, Moody Mauve and Bubble Bath. I also used Basic White.

The flowers are cut from the Cheerful Daisies Dies. The flower centres are blinged up with the 2023 - 2025 In Color Dots in Moody Mauve.

The sentiment, from the Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set, is stamped in Moody Mauve and cut using the label from the Cheerful Daisies Dies.
