Welcome to this month's Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop! Each month, a group of demonstrators from all over the world create projects based on that month's theme. You will be able to hop around below to see all the wonderful inspiration!
This month, the theme is Let's Take A Walk. I just so happen to take a walk almost every morning with some ladies in my neighbourhood in Hope, BC! We often walk to Kawkawa Lake where we can see beautiful mountains, trees and water. This inspired my card for today's hop!
I used the brand new, Forever Forest Bundle, from the September-December 2023 Mini Catalogue...perfect for this theme!
The card base is Blackberry Bliss with a layer of Calypso Coral.
With Small Blending Brushes (you can also use regular size), I brushed on a light coating of Calypso Coral ink on a layer of Basic White Cardstock, some Berry Burst ink near the top and bottom, and finally some Blackberry Bliss ink at the very top and bottom.
I masked off the top half with a Post-It Note (or you can use Stampin' Up! Masking Paper) and lightly added some more Berry Burst to create the water line.
I stamped the smaller set of five trees in Calypso Coral, Berry Burst and Blackberry Bliss along the bottom at varying heights. I also stamped the dots background in the sky with Wink of Stella brushed on the stamp. You could also just use Versamark Ink for the dots.
I die cut the mountain out of Blackberry Bliss and cut a piece off near the right side of the first mountain. I then rounded the edges with Paper Snips and moved that left piece over to the right side of the card. I trimmed both pieces to fit, leaving a space between the mountains, and adhered them just covering the water line. I added a touch of Wink of Stella to the tops of the mountains.
I stamped the birds, in Blackberry Bliss, from the On the Ocean Stamp Set. You could also use the birds from the Beside Me Stamp Set.
I adhered the layer to the Calypso Coral layer and wrapped some Calypso Coral Braided Linen Trim around the layer, hinging it in the front and taping the ends on the back.
I stamped the sentiment from the Above It All Stamp Set in Versamark Ink on Blackberry Bliss and heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder and a Heat Tool. I fussy cut the sentiment with Paper Snips and glued it just above the trim.
I adhered the whole layer to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals, and added 3 Berry Burst sequins from the Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio.
