Time of Giving

This card uses the same background as my Frightfully Cute Halloween card in my previous post! Instead of a witch, I used the Giving Gifts dies to make Santa and his reindeer!

The die cut has a frame which I removed and I added an extra reindeer! The card base is Early Espresso and I used the gorgeous Be Dazzling 6x6 Specialty Paper, available only during Sale-a-Bration, as a mat.

The trees are from the Evergreen Elegance stamp set. The greeting is from the Time of Giving stamp set and is heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss powder! Instructions on the moon and Blending Brush background are on my previous post below!

West Coast Creators Blog Hop - Frightfully Cute

I am so happy to be participating in this month's Halloween-themed blog hop with the talented West Coast Creators! Be sure to check out their blogs by clicking on the links below!

I was inspired by a photo card of a full moon taken on Vancouver Island. It had an unusual mix of grays and browns. I had to buy it for inspiration! For the background (on Basic White), using a 1 1/2" Circle Post-It mask, I used our Blending Brushes with the following ink pads: Smoky Slate, Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, Fresh Freesia, Soft Suede, Early Espresso and Tuxedo Black. This was mounted on a Crumb Cake layer.

The main stamp set is Frightfully Cute and I heat embossed the witch and bats with Black Stampin' Emboss Powder and a Heat Tool. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. The trees from the Evergreen Elegance Stamp Set were stamped in Tuxedo Black.

I used my favourite Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon as a finishing touch before adhering the Crumb Cake layer to the Basic Black card base.

Enjoy and don't forget to check out the projects by my talented fellow demonstrators!

Tribute to Uncle Jimmy

I am honoured to be participating in Bruno & Kylie’s blog hop this month and to share a Thank You card I made for a special occasion.

I made this card to thank the Royal Canadian Legion for hosting 15 members of my family on our pilgrimage to Port Alice, British Columbia, last week. The maple leaf and poppy are part of their emblem.

My uncle, James John Eccles, was a pilot with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He died on Feb 4, 1944, during WWII, when he crashed his plane in Port Alice. He was only 21 years of age.

We decided to take his two surviving sisters, my mom and aunt, to see the memorial erected in his honour. It was a long trip for the two elderly ladies but they both thought it was so special!

I used the Gorgeous Leaves and Peaceful Moments bundles. They were perfect for this card!

Please enjoy hopping to the blogs of many talented demonstrators from around the world!
