Coast to Coast Creators Blog Hop - Colour Challenge

Welcome to October's Coast to Coast Creators Blog Hop! This month we are focusing on using colours in this Colour Challenge!

In my card, I used all the colours above except for Blackberry Bliss.

I used the Ornamental Christmas Bundle which is part of the Modern Christmas Suite Collection. The main colours in that suite are black, white and gold. I changed it up using the colours in the challenge! I created the sky using Blending Brushes with Pumpkin Pie, Azure Afternoon and Berry Burst inks. The trees are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and the sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink and then heat embossed with Basics WOW! Embossing Powder in white.

I splattered White Craft Stampin' Ink, which was mixed with water using a Water Painter, over the whole scene. The star was created with 7 layers of the die-cut star cut from Thick Basic White Cardstock. I then coated it with the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

I finished the card with several Iridescent Faceted Gems in the centre of the star. The photos don't really show how sparkly this card is in real life!

AWOW Blog Hop - Sketch Challenge

Welcome to this month's Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop! We are celebrating our 5 year anniversary with a series of "team member focus" blog hops where we are CAS(e)ing a different team member each blog hop. Our team member focus this month is the fabulous Chris Smith!

Chris shared some of her cards using her favourite sketches. This is her card that I used for inspiration!

I just loved her fall themed card and decided to adapt it to a Christmas card! Here is what I came up with!

I used the Elegant Pine Snowflakes Suite Collection, one of our Online Exclusives suites. The card base is Secret Sea with strips of Pretty Peacock. The flowers were die cut using our All Season Velvet 12" x 12" Specialty Paper and topped off with Faceted Snowflakes. The leaves were die cut from Old Olive.

I love how Chris had some of her leaves overhanging the card edge and trimmed off. I did the same with my flowers and leaves.
