Thoughtful Journey - Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop

Welcome to our May Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop! I am hopping with talented demonstrators from all over the world! This month, we were inspired to create from this beautiful photo and colours!

I love Poppy Parade, a gorgeous, bright & cheerful red but I also wanted to use our new Thoughtful Journey 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, which does not list Poppy Parade as one of the colours in the paper. However, it does have Cajun Craze and I thought the piece I chose looks pretty good with Poppy Parade!

I used Old Olive cardstock for my card base and Poppy Parade for the mat. The flowers are die cut in these same colours using the Thoughtful Wishes Dies. The ribbon was Basic Beige but I coloured it with a Poppy Parade Light Stampin' Blends! I also coloured 3 Iridescent Pearls Basic Jewels with the dark shade of Poppy Parade.

The sentiment, from the Thoughtful Wishes Stamp Set, was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed using White Stampin' Emboss Powder and a Heat Tool. It was die cut with a label from the Unbounded Love Dies and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Thoughtful Journey Fun Fold Card Class

Kim Kroeker and I are very excited to bring you our Thoughtful Journey FUN FOLD Card Class for just $39! Join us online on Facebook on Sunday, June 23^rd to make 6 Fun Fold cards with the gorgeous NEW Thoughtful Journey Suite from the 2024-2025 Annual Catalogue! There will be LIVE sessions in an exclusive Facebook group from 1:00 to 4:30 pm PT (including 6 project presentations) which you can watch from anywhere in Canada (see option below if you live outside of Canada).

To participate in our class sessions, you will need inks, adhesives, a paper trimmer to cut your Designer Series Paper and a die cutting machine such as our Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. We will be using the Thoughtful Wishes Bundle which you can add on when registering or you can substitute other stamps/dies that you already have in your stash! The ink colours we’ll be using are: Misty Moonlight, Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, Pretty Peacock, Cajun Craze and Petunia Pop but, again, you can substitute with what you already have!

What do you get for your $39 class fee?

· 6 card kits including all cardstock, envelopes, and any die-cuts not included in the Thoughtful Wishes Bundle

· A half package (24 sheets) of Thoughtful Journey 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper

· A half package of the Adhesive-Backed Pearl Trio

· 6 LIVE video presentations - these will be recorded so you can watch again later

Card kits will be mailed by June 10th. We know that shipping times can vary so there is a slight possibility that they will arrive after the class. If so, you can still enjoy the class with us and put your card kits together afterwards! You can also pick up your package from my home in Hope, BC.

Coast to Coast Creators Blog Hop - 2024-2026 In Colors

Welcome to May's blog hop! This month, we are focusing on the brand new 2024-2026 In Colors! "In Colors" is the brand name (hence the American spelling!) given to a set of 5 new (or returning) colours that Stampin' Up! brings out every year. They stick around for 2 years so there is always one set overlapping the previous year's set! This year the In Colors are: Pretty in Pink (returning), Peach Pie, Shy Shamrock, Summer Splash and Petunia Pop!

I chose to use 3 of the new In Colors for my card. The main colour is Petunia Pop. I also used Peach Pie and a touch of Pretty in Pink. The mat is embossed with the Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder to give it a tropical feel. The bundle I used is called Beach Day. I used the dies with Basic Black for the palm tree and the sentiment is the only stamp I used.

The sunset background is done with Blending Brushes and 3 In Colors: Peach Pie at the bottom, Pretty in Pink in the middle and Petunia Pop at the top. I tore the top edge of a piece of Basic Black for the ground and matted the scene with Basic Black.

I layered a piece of Peach Pie from the 2024-2026 In Color 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Stack onto the embossed piece, and then adhered the scene on top. I wrapped some black twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack around and taped it to the back. The sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Petunia Pop and I added 3 Petunia Pop pearls from the Adhesive Backed Pearl Trio.

AWOW Blog Hop - Sketch Challenge

Welcome to this month's Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop! Each month, a group of demonstrators from all over the world create projects based on that month's theme. You will be able to hop around below to see all the wonderful inspiration!

This month, the theme is a Sketch Challenge!

My card uses the brand new Spotlight on Nature Bundle!

I focused on one of the new In Colors called Petunia Pop with Lemon Lime Twist as the secondary colour. It uses most of one sheet of Petunia Pop 2024-2026 6" x 6" In Color Designer Series Paper.

Don't you love that circle die-cut? The Spotlight on Nature Bundle has 12 fancy circle dies!

I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured them in with Petunia Pop and Lemon Lime Twist Blends. The Lemon Lime Twist layer is embossed with the new So Swirly Embossing Folder.

The sentiment was stamped in Versamark Ink, heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder, and fussy cut with Paper Snips. I added a bow of the Petunia Pop 3/8" Bordered Ribbon and finished with some Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins.
